I shot this during a few days break in county Kerry earlier this year. It’s a steep, narrow road that cuts through the Brandon mountain range north of Dingle town. Although there were lots of tourists around, I thought back to when this was a road less traveled.
The road is full of overhanging rocks and steep cliffs. It is definitely worth the drive, because the panoramic views are overwhelming.
It was pretty cloudy when we were there, but in my opinion this lent an air of mystery and danger to this beautiful place.
The biggest challenge here was to keep the lens and filters dry.
On my workshops I discussed these and other techniques I use to capture the landscape in dramatic black and white.
