I shot this on Achill Island just recently. The sun had actually set by this time and I was getting ready to go home, when suddenly a part of the sky lit up. Patience rewards always.
I knew it was an ideal opportunity for a long exposure – the shutter was open for over 3 minutes to get this capture.
In my workshops (that will continue over the Autumn/Winter) we will discuss various techniques in order to capture the landscape in dramatic black and white.
If you have a particular scene of Achill Island or indeed, anywhere that you’d like captured, let me know and we can create something great together.
